Up to 10 characters — a first name or a nickname. The plate is cut to follow whatever you type.

The plate, the loop and the lettering all come off the printer joined — nothing to glue and nothing to fall off.

At this size the letters sit too far apart to join, even at the widest border we print. Try a joined script, a larger size, or removing spaces.
The border was widened to mm for you. In this style the letters don't touch, and the plate around them is what makes the keychain a single piece.
The plate narrows to about mm somewhere.

Usually the neck behind the keyring, sometimes a bridge between two letters. It will print, but it is the spot that snaps if the keychain gets yanked. A wider border or a larger size thickens it.

The lettering is very fine at this size — about mm thick.

It is backed by the plate so it won't break, but the second colour gets hard to read. A heavier style, a shorter name or a larger size all help.

Those characters would come out as empty boxes on the finished piece. Pick another lettering style, or spell the name without them.

The loop is tucked in far enough to cut into the lettering.

The keyring hole overlaps a letter, so the name would print with a bite out of it. Pull the loop back out a little under Fine tuning.

We couldn't find a spot on this outline to put the keyring loop. We'll place one by hand when we make it.

Joined scripts give the slimmest outline. Block styles need more material around the letters to hold together, so the plate comes out chunkier.

Both colours are the same, so the name will only show as a raised shape. That's a real look — just check it's the one you want.

Fine tuning border, loop, thickness

How much plate sits around the lettering. We widen it automatically if a style needs more to hold together — never narrower than you set.

How far the loop sits into the plate. Wind it in and it stops reading as something bolted on and becomes part of the shape.

Loop height

Where it sits up the left-hand end. If there's no material at that height — a script with a long descender, say — we move it to the nearest spot that works.

The printer runs the plate in one filament, swaps at mm, and finishes the letters in the other — so the finished keychain is mm thick and has no seam. The loop takes a 5 mm hole, which clears a standard split ring or lobster clasp.
